WORLD APOSTOLIC CONGRESS ON MERCY. ROME APRIL 2-6 2008

Being in Rome for this congress was not only a blessing, but a great opportunity to further my acquaintance with the great treasures of our Catholic Church. This was the first Divine Mercy congress organized directly by the Vatican under the guidance and blessing of our Pope Benedict XVI in memory of Pope John Paul II.

The opening ceremony by the Pope at Saint Peter’s square with a mass for the repose of the soul of John Paul II for whom this whole event was prepared, was magnificent, radiant and so anointed, every one was really spiritually moved into the beginning of a real powerful blessing descending from the very seat of Saint Peter.

The following days were held at the Basilica of San Giovanni in Lateran where the daily talks were and ended with Holy mass at noon. The rest of the activities in the afternoon and evening were held in different Churches of Rome depending on the respective languages and there were workshops and art, theater and music presentations, all related to the unity of the Catholic Church’s traditions with the touches, charismas and expressions of so many cultures from around the world.

Cardinal Schonborn of Austria was in charge as master of ceremony. We had the honor to listen to different Cardinals and witness of the faith from many places around the globe.

There was a unique spirit of unity and joy and especially a feeling of brotherhood with a Church that couldn’t be larger in its spirituality and in its geographical range. One felt like being part of Giant that is just beginning to awake and that holds every single truth and every single real power from above. It was wonderful to be part of Jesus troops that came together to celebrate one of the most powerful gifts of our faith:  The Divine Mercy of our awesome God

We all had the opportunity to get to know many Catholic brother and sisters from every where in the world. A blessed week where people’s faces were getting more and more radiant with the Light of the Holy Spirit as days went by.

I believe that this event was the beginning of a celebration that will be carried on for many years to come.

May the Lord Jesus by the grace of the great message giving to His secretary of Mercy Saint Faustina, continue uniting us all around the great presence of our Pope Benedict XVI and the Holy Church of Rome.

I feel I was part of something powerful and very anointed that could only come from above, directly from God. I extend the invitation to you all, to come to Rome for the next Divine Mercy celebration on April 2-6 2009
