"The more you honor me, the more I will bless you" The devotion of the infant Jesus of Prague is surrounded with so many miracles and wanders that it rapidly spread to the whole world. The Little King has been enthroned as the Great King of the world to assist His subjects in their trials, difficulties, and crosses. He Who Himself has suffered so much desires to assist those who come to Him. He wishes to attract all hearts to His own through the attractiveness and simplicity of His Divine Infancy.
The Infant King of Prague:
The Holy Infant of Prague is made of wax, is 47-cm. high (about one and a half feet), and has a wooden core. The image was made by an old Spanish monk who received a vision from the Christ Child. It was said to have passed into the hands of St. Theresa of Avila where according to an old family tradition, it became a wedding gift from the blessed saint to the Bohemian nobleman Lord Vratislav of Pernstejn and Doņa Maria Maximiliana Manriguez de Lara. The statue passed further into the hands of their beautiful daughter, Polyxema. In her twilight years, twice married and a widow, Madam Polyxema de Lobkowisz brought her most precious collection, the Holy "Bambino" to the Church of Our Lady Victorious in the Little Quarter which belonged to the bare-footed Carmelites of Prague. It was dressed in robes and tiara as a sign of faith in Jesus Christ,
the King of the world. There have been many replicas made of the original statue of the Infant of Prague. These may vary in feature, but retain the essential characteristics of the Infant King: The tiara on His head, His right hand raised in blessing, and in His left, a globe. It is not necessary to have a statue to practice this devotion, even a picture would suffice. However, many people prefer to have a statue of their Infant King in their homes to remind them of the many blessings which can flow from honoring our little King. Father Cyril: The Carmelite Convent was vandalized, and the statue forgotten for 7 years, until it was found broken and mutilated by Father Cyril, who while praying before it, heard a strange voice: "Have pity on Me and I will have pity on you. Give me back My hands and I will give you peace. The more you honor me, the more I will bless you." Through the kindness of benefactors, the statue was replaced with a new one... and an avalanche of miracles and divine favors came!
Miraculous Healings Records of miraculous phenomenon in connection with the sculpture of the Infant Jesus did not end sometime in the past. They occur even today, as these two reported by the Carmelite Convent in Prague: "One happened to a two year old Tamara in Brazil. From birth she had disconnected hips and could only walk with difficulty with the help of a special equipment, which, by the way is kept in our church of Infant Jesus of Prague. She could hardly walk. The parents prayed a novena to the Infant Jesus of Prague and on the 6th day, she could take the first steps without the equipment that aided her. The doctors were astonished. The friends could not believe it. The whole family arrived in 1995 in this church, to thank the Miraculous Infant Jesus of Prague. Another case is the healing of an Indian woman, who had an accident in her youth, that paralyzed her. For a long time she had to rest in bed without moving. Once in a dream she saw the Infant Jesus and she understood, that she can be healed. She prayed the novena to the Infant Jesus, that someone ordered for her. While praying she started to observe that gradually the feeling come back to her feet and to her whole body. After a few weeks she was healed. In about 1994 she arrived here from USA as a 70-year-old grandmother with her husband and grandchild. All her life she had saved money for this trip to give thanksgiving to the Miraculous Infant Jesus of Prague". Infant
